Renuka Menon’s lessons from film industry
- 01.02.2006
Just a while ago, Renuka Menon made her debut in films. And, frankly, unlike some of the other actresses, she hasn’t starred in many films either. But, she is making a successful career in Tamil. While her career in Tamil is going great guns, nothing much happened in Malayalam. Why?
“It is true that I didn’t act in many films. I don’t believe in signing up everything that comes my way. If you work in good films with good directors, people tend to remember you for long even if you become absent for a long time. And, it isn’t just about fans either.
“A time will come when you’ll turn back and look at your past. Working in interesting and good films makes you feel good about yourself. ‘Nammal’ didn’t exactly turn out to be a dream-launch, but the film sure did give me great memories and a nice career-graph. In ‘Freedom’ I got an opportunity to work with a senior director like Thambi Kannanthanan. For me, such experiences are most important,” Renuka said.
