When K Balachander announced that he was going to remake 'Katha Parayumbol' in Tamil with none other than Rajinikanth in the lead, everybody was very excited.

Rajinikanth was going to play Mammooty's role in the film. But in the Tamil version, this role was going to be given big-time prominence in order to make it worth a superstar's appearance.

But Rajinikanth has now announced that he is not that keen on modifying the story to suit his image. He says that he'd rather star in the film just the way it is now instead of messing with the story. If director K Balachander, who is the producer of the film, agrees, then Rajinikanth will only make a guest appearance in the film.

The actor is now concentrating more on his next film with Shankar, 'Robot'.
