Who is the real culprit?
- 01.05.2007
Vijay is a well-known hero in Tamil. His films do surprisingly good business in Kerala too, thanks to its good music and perfect masala formula. His 'Pokiri' had become one of the biggest hits in recent times.
That also is the biggest allegation against him- that he follows a standard formula of six songs, four stunt scenes, couple of punch dialogues, two heroines and comedy. Did he start this formula for himself or was it the audience?
Vijay says, "I don't have a standard formula for myself. I used to watch lot of films as a kid and what I'm doing now is what I had seen on the screens then. When I watch a film, I expect that it should have all the ingredients like action, songs, comedy and emotions in it. I love heroism, comedy, romance and dance. This is not my formula. This is the formula of a commercial film. I just want to do films that match the formula.
"Slowly and steadily I'm settling down in the formula. That's all."
He is now starring in 'Azagiya Tamiz Magan', produced by Swargachitra Appachan.
