Jyothirmayi obsessed with variety

Jyothirmayi is on a quest to prove that she just can play all kinds of roles- from the most glamorous to extremely offbeat ones.
About a few years ago, she was trying to make a mark as a glamorous heroine in couple of films in Telugu and Tamil. She then abruptly switched to playing the kind of roles that other heroines hesitated to star in and she has come out of them with flying colors.
She is playing the role of the tribal woman named Maatangi in G Ajayan's 'Bodhi'. In Tamil, she was seen as EVR Periyar's wife in the film based on his life. She is also starring in a film by director MG Sashi's 'Adayaalangal'. The film's shooting is now on at a rapid pace.
Her obsession with such offbeat roles have now started a new rumor- is she starring in such roles because she is not able to get mainstream commercial ones?
