Kamalhasan irks directors association!!!
- 02.03.2007
Kamalhasan finds himself in the midst of some big controversies these days. One of them is about the film that he is working in and the other one is about the films that he had worked in.
Kamalhasan's 'Dasavathaaram' is still dealing with the case filed by an associate director who claims that the actor and stolen the story from him. The court has ordered a stay of the film's release for about 2 weeks until the matters are resolved. Kamalhasan says that he has better things to do than stealing others' stories.
The film's director says that the producer, who's investing crores of rupees in the film, knows better than to steal.
Now, Kamalhasan is facing problems from an unexpected quarter. Tamil film industry has a very powerful directors' association. Anyone who intends to direct films in Tamil has to first register himself/herself with the association and pay a hefty sum as membership fee. It is only after getting the membership that the person is eligible to direct.
Kamalhasan had directed quite a few films before. Some were hits. Others flopped. But, he never bothered to get himself registered as a member of the Directors' association. The association has condemned his attitude. But it doesn't look as if Kamalhasan is going to be greatly perturbed by it.
