Bharathi is known more for her role as the commercial sex worker in the Tamil film 'Ammuvagiya Naan'. The film did well thanks to the controversial theme and all those wet white shirts that she wore.

Bharathi was caught in a very irksome problem- all the roles that she began to get were of the same kind. They wanted her to play the role of a prostitute again and again. She became sick of it and made it very clear that she has no intention whatsoever of starring in such roles again.

Finally, she has reasons to celebrate.

She is now starring in a new film in which she is NOT playing such a role. She is starring in a love story- about four young women who fall in love with the same man. The film is all about who wins his hand finally!
