The national-award winning actress Priyamani was always interested in starring in a Manirathnam film. Frankly, there is nothing surprising about it. Everybody is interested in working with the acclaimed director.

So, just before the awards were announced, when Manirathnam approached her for the new film offer, she was more than glad to accept it. Soon afterwards, she was told that she had won the award for best actress.

Manirathnam intends to produce and direct the film and when it was time to negotiate the rates, Priyamani was more than willing to give him big rebates.

In fact, rumors claim that the actress usually charges close to Rs 25 Lakhs per film. This time, since it was an offer she was not interested in missing at all, she said that she would work in it for as low as Rs 10 lakhs!

The director was mighty pleased, of course!
