That's why the actress has decided to forcibly get glamorous from now on. As luck would have it, the moment she made her mind up about it, she received an offer. The film was going to have an extensive scene of her bathing under the waterfalls.

The director and costume designer had first picked up a white sari for her. Everybody knows what happens when white costumes come in touch with water. It becomes transparent. Vimala Raman bluntly refused to wear white.

Finally, the costume designer settled for a green sari. Everybody thought that she would be nervous about starring in the scene, but when she saw the water, she was so jubilant that it turned out very naturally on the camera. Later she said that she was constantly bitten by the fishes in the water.
