"Don't call me 'Chechi'"
- 15.05.2008
Kollywood is full of heroines from Malayalam. The moment a Malayalam director finds and brings in a heroine; filmmakers from Kollywood would immediately pick her up and go away to Tamil.
So, when a heroine from Malayalam goes to Tamil, she is bound to run into some of her "seniors" from the state.
Poorna is one such actress. Though Malayali by birth and after the customary debut in Malayalam, she went away to Tamil. 'Muniyandi, Vilangiyal Moondram Aandu' is the name of the film in which she is playing the lead role.
She is very close to Gopika. Though Gopika has made it official that her parents have now started looking for a groom for her, she is still hopeful that by the time her marriage occurs, she'd star in atleast a film or two. As far as Poorna is concerned, Gopika is nothing short of a rolemodel for her. Out of respect, she'd always address Gopika as 'Chechi' (elder sister).
Gopika has now ordered her to not address her that way because it would make her sound old and ancient.
Point taken!
