Two kinds of roles are extremely in demand as far as heroes are concerned- anti-hero roles and those of cops.
You aren't quite a hero in Malayalam unless you wear the Khaki uniform and the film becomes a hit. Stars like Mammooty and Suresh Gopi had been very successful in such roles. In Mammooty's case, he was known more for the investigating CBI officer roles. But Suresh Gopi added a larger-than-life dimension to the cop roles that he plays with his angry outbursts and swearing.
Now, Jayasurya is going to become a cop in the new film 'Positive' to be directed by VK Prakash.
After a long time, he is going to star as the sole hero of the film. The actor was genuinely surprised when he was told by the director that he was going to play the role of a cop in the film.
It remains to be seen if the uniform fits him properly and if he really looks convincing in the role.
