It’s always a pleasure to watch a film that doesn’t preach, doesn’t carry any hidden social message or pretend to be realistic. Shut the logic part of your brain down, sit and enjoy the film. Return to reality when you leave the theatres.
Mammooty is Gulan Kunjumon. His father, played by Innocent, runs a mobile eatery in Kochi. Gulan runs its branch in Kozhikode. Gulan is a colorful character. He never bothered to go to school after his LKG. His favorite character is Mayavi of the children’s comic-book fame. He wouldn’t waste an opportunity to bash up the troublemakers. He is an expert card player and, needless to say, is a very good man.
He gets a call from his father. Problem is- his father runs his eatery bang in front of a five star hotel in Kochi. The hotel is owned by Lakshmi (Sneha) and her family. The hotel authorities send an eviction notice to Gulan’s father. He refuses to vacate and soon brings his son in to solve the problem.
As expected, the son confronts Lakshmi and the latter ends up falling in love with him. Eventually, all ends well. The film seems to be inspired heavily by David Dhavan-Govinda comedy ‘Dulhe Raja’.
After more than six years, Sneha returns to Malayalam with this film.
